The BRIGHT Initiative of Evansville is proud to support the Festival of Nations, an inspiring annual event that celebrates the rich cultural diversity of the Evansville community.
What began seven years ago as a small, grassroots effort by two ESL teachers to showcase their students’ cultures has blossomed into a dynamic international festival. With initial funding from the Public Education Foundation, and growing support from the Bosse World Language Department and International Club, the event quickly expanded to include students, local restaurants, businesses, and performers from across the city.
By 2018, the festival had grown significantly, featuring 70 tables—26 representing different countries—alongside food vendors, universities, corporations, and community organizations. Over 600 people attended that year, enjoying a vibrant evening of music, dance, food, and cultural exchange. The event has also fostered collaboration with schools like Stockwell Elementary and Harrison High School, creating lasting educational and cultural opportunities. Nominated for the 2019 and 2020 Leadership Evansville Awards, the Festival of Nations continues to unite our community and support its growing international population, and we wholeheartedly encourage participation and involvement in this meaningful celebration.
